Dot Programme - Inglis Vets!

An ideal step into Small Animal Practice for a new graduate

Now taking applicants for the 2018 programme!

Inglis Vets are delighted to announce we’re now taking applications for our bespoke graduate programme ‘new.graduatevet 2018’ run in conjunction with our friends at Pets ‘n’ Vets Glasgow.

As two independent Scottish practices, we believe this is the most well-rounded and best- supported graduate programme available in Scotland, but that doesn’t stop us making continual improvements!

This year’s programme will see our new graduates undertake advanced training and extra practice on surgery, consultations and general practice, furthering surgical skills and confidence.

Graduates will initially be based at our highly-regarded Care and Save branch, based in Cowdenbeath for the first month of intensive training before joining the hospital team in Dunfermline. As well as working with our senior veterinary surgeons, graduates will also have the chance to work with visiting specialists, providing a wealth of experience.

Other key aspects of the programme include:

  • Consulting and surgical shadowing at our award-winning pet hospital in Dunfermline
  • An experienced vet designated as a ‘Mentor’ within the practice
  • Supported exposure to out-of-hours ECC (we provide our own weekend and night service) but you’ll never work consecutive day and night and you’ll get a whole week off after working nights
  • Monthly Mentor meetings and case reviews
  • A digest of monthly seminars, case discussions and reviews
  • Day release for monthly seminars at the Roundhouse Veterinary Hospital in Glasgow
  • Experience of complex cases and work ups including the use of ultrasonography, endoscopy, dentistry and dental imaging, orthopaedics, cardiology, dermatology and more

For the successful applicants, we offer a very attractive package which includes:

  • A competitive basic salary
  • RCVS membership
  • BSAVA Membership
  • VDS fees paid
  • CPD funded and encouraged in addition to regular in house training.
  • 6.5 weeks paid holiday
  • Staff Pet Care Plan
  • Monthly CPD days with Pets’N’Vets, Glasgow

If you want to learn from some of the best in the business, don’t delay and send us your CV and covering letter detailing why you are the ideal candidate!

Closing date 2nd March 2018. Interviews to be held week commencing 12th March 2018.
